Julie Schauer taught college art appreciation and art history for 30 years. Her MA is from the University of Virginia. This WordPress website contains the transfer of two previous blogs with outdated software: Artventures and Artscapes, from the Blogger platform.
Art is for everyone, and this blog hopes to make it easier for all to understand. In these days of polarization, when people are becoming increasingly divided, art can bridge the gap between people and help us understand our common humanity.
Since I retired from teaching, I will not write about new exhibitions or anything meant to inspire students. This blog will present subjects that need a wider audience and more recognition, themes such as the Noguchi Foundation, and an unknown Pietà in France.
